A note from our founder
"When we first meet with people, we often hear how frustrated they are with their financial situations. Many don't have a financial plan - or if they do, they're off track and haven't made as much progress as they'd like. We help you align your financial actions with your intentions. First, we start with thorough fact finding to learn where you are today and where you'd like to be. Then we create a strategic plan to help you get there and implement it at a pace you're comfortable with to achieve your goals."

My Story
I grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois and spent most of my younger days working for my father in his vacuum-forming plastics company in Elk Grove Village. Watching him build a small business during the 1970s recession and era of 21% lending interest rates provided an education in and of itself. Those were trying times, yet many great perspectives came from those experiences. Being self employed, I refer back to those early memories and lessons frequently with the business owners and executives we now work with.
In 1988, I married my high school sweetheart, Paula. She started her career with Coopers and Lybrand (PWC) in 1986 after we both graduated from Illinois State. As a result of Paula's work in the "Big 8" accounting industry, our firm works with many accountants serving various business sectors. I'm grateful her career stability enabled me to build a strong business foundation with a growing clientele.
Today, we have four children ranging from teenagers to their late 20s, and there never seems to be a dull day at the McGuire house...something I very much cherish. When I am not working with clients or spending time with my family, I am a member of the golf community and have a passion for all things that burn gasoline, like older muscle cars and motorcycles. I've learned that passionate people exist in both worlds, and it's fun hearing their interesting stories, whether I'm on the greens or at a Car Club event.
After all, everyone has a story; some just don't have a person to share it with. I love hearing people's stories on how they got to where they are today. And, I can't wait to listen to yours.
Professional
I joined Northwestern Mutual as a college intern while attending business school at Illinois State University in 1985. As I completed my senior year with a Bachelor's in Marketing, I was recognized as the runner-up of all Northwestern Mutual interns nationwide. This was quite an accomplishment.
Since becoming a full-time financial representative in 1986, I have achieved many professional milestones including a Qualifying/Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and consistent recognition at Northwestern Mutual's Forum Conference where the top advisors across the country are acknowledged for their contributions. What an honor to be among the best of the best!
Over the years, I worked hard to build a responsive financial services firm. As my clients' financial needs evolved, so did my practice. I became a Wealth Management Advisor and expanded my team with additional credentialed and experienced individuals to proactively support our growing client base. The secret to success is always surrounding yourself with great people. I am grateful to serve an amazing group of clients with an unparalleled team of colleagues by my side.
Lending a hand in my community
As part of Northwestern Mutual, I'm proud to help accelerate the search for better childhood cancer treatments while supporting families undergoing treatment, and survivors from late effects. Here are some of the organizations we partner with:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF)
ALSF funds cancer research, raises awareness, and supports the families of children with cancer. Since 2012, Northwestern Mutual, its employees, and financial professionals like me have donated more than $20 million to support ALSF and fund over 400,000 research hours.
Beads of Courage
Beads of Courage is an art-in-medicine program that helps kids with cancer tell their unique treatment story through colorful beads that are symbols of their courage.
